World Diabetes Day: Nov 14 2006
A news report on NPR this morning reminded us that tomorrow is World Diabetes Day. International health organizations have seen dramatic increases in diabetes in places where it was previously unknown as Western dietary routines are exported around the globe. Diabetes is considered the number one preventable epidemic by World Health experts.
With a diabetes related amputation taking place at a rate of 1 every 30 seconds, the ten years of developing and testing Immune Perféct will hopefully soon start to reverse the numbers of amputations.
World Diabetes Day: About World Diabetes Day
World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on 14 November. The date was chosen as it is the birthday of Frederick Banting who, along with Charles Best, first conceived the idea which led to the discovery of insulin in 1922. While many events take place on or around the day itself, themed campaigning is spread over the whole year.
Our CEO, Kathy Wright, is a firm believer in proper nutrition and healthy living. We will be adding cooking, exercise and health tips to this site in the near future. The best way to prevent diabetic skin issues from causing amputation, is to prevent diabetes in the first place.
